On June 30, we received a request through our website. The request came from a family serving in Granada, Nicaragua. He was born in Nicaragua and moved to the U.S. at a very young age. His wife was born and raised in the US. They have been serving in ministry at their local church for the past 16 years. God has placed a deep love for the people of Nicaragua in their hearts. As in Romans 10:13-15, they have a God-given desire to share the good news of the life-changing love of Jesus with those they are called to serve. With a background in youth ministry, their desire is to see that young Nicaraguans are saved, discipled, equipped, empowered, and serving Christ.
They received a mandatory evacuation notice from their missionary sending agency. As they are here for a transitional period of time, they requested short term housing as they travel to their destination to find respite with their family in the US.
We are so thankful for our community partners that quickly responded to this urgent need and helped us place this family in temporary housing.
Right now their plan is to be here in the states for June and July. They will continue to serve as full-time missionaries with their sending agency, Global Outreach International and are still working with leaders of the church to help out remotely from the U.S. in this time of crisis and urgent need.
They are in shock after receiving the mandatory evacuation 24 hours before having to leave. Please pray for this family as they are still processing everything. God is amazing and they are so grateful for His blessings and all of their faithful friends who have prayed for them fervently and have demonstrated their support for us in a variety of ways.
Please pray for this family and the country of Nicaragua. Nicaragua has shifted from a developing third world country to a country in crisis. We place all of our hope and confidence in the Lord and we know something amazing will come out of this, knowing that God will use what the enemy intended for harm for good.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
Genesis 50:20 NIV
Please consider giving to this specific need, to helping out with buying much needed basic food items such as beans, rice, oil, oatmeal, salt, and sugar for our Nicaragua church family. If you have not had the opportunity to give previously, now is a perfect time to get involved in what God is doing in Nicaragua.
