A little over a week ago, we came together with our team and supporters and celebrated the past year of ministry.
We would love to share some highlights from this time with you….

Our speaker was Dr. Jim Coffield, a licensed psychologist, and a professor of counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. Jim’s message focused on the struggles missionaries have serving internationally – depression, anxiety, isolation, and loneliness.

Many of these issues come from living in a different culture, often with a different language, and far away from family and friends.  Not having a safe place to share, they live with a tension not wanting to disappoint their mission agencies, supporting churches and individuals. They are concerned that should they be transparent with their struggles, they may lose support and perhaps removed from the field.

Jim believes in the importance of providing ongoing encouragement and care while missionaries are serving internationally. He used an analogy of building a fence on a hill or providing an ambulance in the valley below. By not providing on-going care, we wait for the challenge or crisis that eventually occurs, resulting in the need for an ambulance. This last-minute care, sadly, is what most often happens.

Jim and our team at Missional Living is passionate about building fences on the hill by providing regular, on-going missionary care, support, and encouragement. It is a fence of protection at the hill above instead of providing rescue work and the ambulance in the valley.

They need support and encouragement. They need to know that someone cares.

It is a privilege to walk alongside missionaries and support and encourage them as they are the frontlines of our Father’s work!

Our fundraising goal is $95,000.
